About the event
Robert Frost said, famously, “no tears for the writer, no tears for the reader, no surprise for the writer, no surprise for the reader.” In this generative workshop we explore paths that lead to surprise in poems. So we ask – what it poetic surprise and how do we discover it? Through a series of playful and supportive exercises (not prompts) participants will find out what they genuinely want and need to say, quite independent of conscious intention.
